Why did the sync error occur

This error occurs when a Bill that has been paid in OFX is updated in Xero (e.g., changes to the invoice date, account code, etc.). OFX does not sync or recognise these updates.

How to fix the sync error

Verify that the changes to the bill are not significant and do not impact the reconciliation between the OFX and Xero account balance. Once confirmed, archive the sync failure request, as no further action is needed.

Why does the sync error occur

This error occurs when OFX attempts to sync a transaction in a currency other than your base currency to Xero. However, the Xero subscription does not include or support multicurrency transactions. 

How to fix the sync error

We recommend upgrading your Xero subscription to enable multi-currency support. Once the upgrade is enabled in Xero, you can resync the transactions.

If the subscription is not upgraded, you can manually create or upload the transactions in Xero using the base currency equivalent.

Why does the sync error occur

This error occurs when an incorrect tax code is applied with the account code. For example, using the GST on Sales tax code with an expense account code will trigger this error.

How to fix the sync error

For an Expense, you will be able to update the tax code and click Submit. 

For a Bill that is yet to be paid, you click to move it back to drafts. Once in draft status the tax code can be updated, and click Submit. 

Note: If an approval policy is in place, the bill will need to be submitted through the approval process when it is moved back to drafts. 

Alternatively, you can manually upload or create the bill in Xero and archive the error to resolve the issue.

Why does the sync error occur

When OFX syncs a Spend or Receive Money transaction, which includes a conversion, it uses these accounts as clearing accounts. These accounts must remain active and not altered for conversions to sync accurately. 

How to fix the sync error

Unarchive this account in Xero and then click Retry sync on the transaction in the Xero sync errors.

Remove the payment from the bill in Xero, then click Retry Sync on the transaction in the Xero sync errors to update the bill with the payment from OFX.

Why does the sync error occur
This error occurs when the invoice being synced has a bill date earlier than the locked period set in Xero.

How to fix the sync error
Option 1
Change Invoice Sync Date: Open up the Bill or Expense and navigate to the Xero date issued field. Here you can use the date picker and update the bill date that will be used to resync with Xero allowing you to set a date that is after the locked financial period. This is especially useful in accrual accounting when invoices arrive after the month-end period.

Option 2
Unlock the Financial Period in Xero

1. Go to your Xero Organisation Settings  
2. Click Advanced Settings
3. Lock Financial Settings  
4. Select the Lock Dates field
5. Update the Lock date to a date before the Bill or Expense date you are trying to sync.
6. Return OFX and the Xero sync errors dashboard.

For Expenses, lick Submit to retry the sync. 

For Payments, you can click Retry sync on the transaction in the Xero sync errors.

This error occurs when a payment cannot sync to Xero because the payment amount exceeds the value of the bill or invoice in Xero. The payment amount must be less than or equal to the bill or invoice value for the sync to be successful.

How to fix the sync error

Remove any duplicate or manual payments that may be applied from the bill or invoice in Xero and then click Retry sync on the transaction in the Xero sync errors. 

For Expenses, click Submit to retry the sync. 

For Payments, you can click Retry sync on the transaction in the Xero sync errors.
