To make payments, you must first create a recipient in your OFX account, which involves entering their details correctly.

Why is this page important? Accurate recipient information is essential for successful payment processing and avoiding delays.

Next Steps:
1. Log into your OFX account.
2. Navigate to the “Recipients” section from the sidebar menu.


3. Click "+ Create recipient."


4. Enter the recipient's basic info. 

a. If the recipient is an individual, then enter the recipient’s nickname, email, first name, and last name.

 

b. If the recipient is a company, then enter the recipient's nickname, email, and the company's registration number. 

 

5. Click "Next". 

 

6. Enter the banking essentials. Ensure you capture the country of the recipient's bank account, receipt currency, and payment method. Click "Next" to proceed.

7. Enter the recipient's banking details. 

a. If you have chosen "OFX Direct" payment method in step 6 above, you will be asked to provide recipient's banking details, including IBAN Code, or BSB Code for Australia.

b. If you have selected the "SWIFT" payment method in step 6 above, you will be asked to provide the recipient's banking details, including the SWIFT/BIC Code. 

c. If you have selected "Domestic Wire" payment method in step 6 above, you will be asked to provide the recipient's Transit Code, and Institution number, amongst other field requirements.

d. If you have selected "BPAY" payment method in step 6 above, you will be asked to provide the recipient's Biller Code, and Reference number. 

e. If you select "PayID" payment method is step 6 above, a dropdown will be presented for the user to select the relevant PayID.

 

Once selected, the user is then prompted to enter the details of the PayID. 

 

8. Click "Next" to proceed. 

 


9. On the Confirmation step, the MFA prompt will be displayed.

  1. Security code will be sent to your mobile device. Enter the security code sent to your registered mobile number.

  2. Review the information and click “Save Recipient” to complete the process.

  3. Skip MFA or fail authentication. Error messages will appear, and you can try again. Sample message below when entering an incorrect code.

  4. Confirmation: After successful MFA verification, your changes will be saved. Once you’ve completed MFA for a recipient created or updated they will not need to do so again for 5 minutes or until log out. (If you do not receive a code or have issues with your mobile number, contact OFX support for assistance.)
