Try another verification method. On the verification screen, select Change Verification Method to switch between passkey, authenticator app, SMS, or a security key (if you’ve set these up).

Check your device settings. Make sure notifications are enabled, your device’s time and date are set to automatic, and battery optimisation isn’t blocking authenticator prompts. If you’re using a VPN, try turning it off.

Travelling? SMS codes may not arrive when you’re roaming. Use a passkey or an authenticator app instead.

Security tip: OFX will never ask for your password or verification codes by phone, email, or SMS. If you receive a suspicious message, contact us straight away.

How OFX login works

To keep your account safe, we use 2-step verification (also called multi-factor authentication or MFA). You’ll log in using your email or username, password, and one of your verification methods (passkey, authenticator app, SMS code, or security key).

Trusted devices & cookies

If you select Remember me on a device or browser you trust, you’ll be asked for 2-step verification less often on that device. However, we may still prompt you if we detect unusual activity.

Passkeys, authenticator apps, SMS and security keys—what to use when

• Passkeys (passwordless, phishing-resistant): Best for everyday use on devices that support Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello. For setup guides, see Apple, Google, and Microsoft (links below).

• Authenticator apps (time-based codes or approvals): Reliable when travelling; a good backup if SMS isn’t available. See official help from Microsoft and Google.

• SMS codes (fallback): Handy if you don’t use an app, but may not work when roaming.
